Battlefield: Hardline is expected to be released in March 17, 2015 by Electronic Arts. The game was developed by Visceral Games (formerly EA Redwood Shores) and DICE. Battlefield is a first person shooter.
Battlefield: Hardline is the 5th mainstream release of the series from EA.
First off, this game is not just a rehash of Battlefield 4. All of the Battlefield games have large amounts of similarities, as does this. But, I think it is the freshest take on Battlefield since Bad Company came out some decade ago.
Battlefield: Hardline changes from a combat oriented type of action game to a more modern law enforcement or police type play.
Visceral has found that style of action to be a fresh look at the way combat forces are work today. Yes, you’re trading the safety of far-away battlegrounds for cities and suburbs, but beneath the gunfire you’ll find the multiplayer experience that’s expected from Battlefield.
With destructible environments, modern-day weaponry, high-performance vehicles, and massive encounters, you’ll feel right at home. Battlefield Hardline features an enhanced version of the popular Frostbite engine.
The main factions in Hardline are the police Special Response Units and Criminals. Players will have access to various military-grade weapons and vehicles, such as the UH-60 Blackhawk as well as having police equipment such as Tasers and handcuffs.
The new game modes are Heist, Rescue, Hotwire Mode and Blood Money.
The plot revolves around Nick Mendoza, a SWAT officer who is involved in criminal activity.
For the first time, in Battlefield Hardline, players can complete their objective in various different ways and paths, either silently or violently.
A new gadget, called the Police Scanner, can be used to find enemies, important objects and evidences, and mark them.
The game features car chases and firefights to keep everyone on their toes.
Some have suggested this game is more of a DLC than a stand alone title. This likely comes from the expectations of earlier incantations. There are 3 levels offered on release day, the standard, deluxe and the ultimate version.
The game has been criticized by using the Gadsden flag which is being used by the Tea Party wing of the GOP which are plutocratic in nature. This even brings the specter of racism and other extremes. Granted this is a game but the choice was a poor one in our mind.
The campaign takes about 10 hours to play which is a lot better than BF4 which came out 2 years ago. BF4 and other games were heavily criticized for a short campaign.
