The G.SKILL F3-17000CL11-4GBXL memory supports all JEDEC speeds up to PC3-17000 DDR3-2133 with the XMP extensions The G.Skill comes as a pair of 4096MB DIMMs..
Since this RAM was manufactured the JEDEC standard was revised to allow for speeds up to DDR3-2133. DDR3 remained on the market longer than expected.
See the RAM Timing page for more information on how RAM timings work.
AMD AM2 and Intel Sandy and above all have integrated memory controllers. A BIOS update may be needed to use higher capacity memory.
SPD TIMING TABLE
We have tested this RAM in 2 different AMD system and it works very well.
We have overclocked this RAM to DDR3-1866 and it works very well. This means using the G.SKILL F3-17000CL11-4GBXL, AMD users can level the memory bandwidth easily versus any Intel rig.
Running this RAM at DDR3-1600 speeds provides a maximum bandwidth of 12.8GB per second which is sufficient for handling dual graphics cards easily.
The G.SKILL F3-17000CL11-4GBXL supports the Intel XMP profile for operation at DDR3-2133 speeds. The AMD FX processors can use DDR3-1866 speeds with this memory easily.
