Lost Planet 3 was released on August 26, 2013 by Capcom. The game was developed by Spark Unlimited. Lost Planet 3 is a third person action shooter.
Lost Planet 3 reveals new truths about the foreboding planet and the colonial history of E.D.N. Working for Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC) who are preparing the planet for colonisation, Jim joins his fellow pioneers at the Coronis base and begins surveying the uncharted terrain and obtaining samples of the planet’s energy supply – Thermal Energy.
Gameplay is pretty standard. Some control issues can be resolved by using game options.
LIke previous releases Lost Planet 3 is an action shooter. The graphics are also better without making the game too demanding.
75% of Lost Planet 3 consists of walking around in a very slow, defenseless Mech / Rig. Turning a valve can take several minutes before the player moved to the next one and turns it. This gives the game the feel of working in the oil patch.
The game is playable with the unlimited ammo pistol for at least 90% of the game. We often like to play shooters with pistols as it forces a better and more precise shot.
Game is XP class so 4GB of memory and a recent rig can handle this easily. A DX9 card is all that is needed but modern DX11 cards are able to render this game nicely. A 9800GT or HD 4770 are the minimum.
